SASI, the Shopify App Store Index, shut down with Mantle in 2026, and its ranking history went with it. Four tools now sell App Store rank tracking on its own: App Store Pulse, Letsmetrix, AppJubilee and Rankbase. Meridian takes another route and tracks keyword rankings, category positions and reviews next to your app’s billing, CRM and hosting.
Pick by need. Free for 1 app and 3 keywords: Letsmetrix or App Store Pulse. 20 keywords per app for $19 a month: Letsmetrix Pro. Every page of results for the keywords it crawls: AppJubilee, from $29 a month. The search queries that bring merchants to your listing: the free GA4 tracking Shopify offers. Rankings in the same place as your billing and CRM, with each review on the profile of the store that left it: Meridian.
SASI, from Union Works to Mantle’s shutdown
Union Works built SASI as a free website that tracked where Shopify apps ranked in App Store categories and in search, along with their ratings and review counts, and emailed a daily digest of those positions. Mantle bought it in May 2024 and added a SASI report to its own product, but that report tracked up to 10 search terms at a time, and only on English-language listings.
SASI closed with the rest of Mantle in 2026. It still worked in mid-July, and by early November its address returned only an error. For App Store data, Mantle pointed its users to App Store Pulse and Fusion Metrics, but only App Store Pulse tracks rankings: Fusion Metrics is a revenue analytics tool (MRR, churn, reviews and GA4 attribution).
If you also relied on Mantle for billing, the CRM or email, Mantle alternatives, job by job covers each of them.
Which tools track App Store rankings now?
Each row below comes from the tool’s own pages, as they read on 4 November 2026.
Keywords, depth and history compared
The tools also read results to different depths. SASI stopped at the first two pages for each keyword, while AppJubilee records positions across all pages and crawls its keywords once a day. Meridian keeps the top 120 results, five pages of 24, for each keyword you add. Letsmetrix and App Store Pulse don’t state a depth on their pages.
History is the other difference. Since SASI’s is gone, a new tool can only show you the past from its own records. Letsmetrix and AppJubilee say they backfill a new account from their daily crawls, whereas App Store Pulse starts a keyword’s history on the day you add it. In Meridian, it depends on what you look at: Market Intel already holds the daily category history of every app, but a keyword’s chart starts on the day you track it.
What can you get for free?
Shopify doesn’t track your rank, but it can tell you how merchants found your listing. Once you add a GA4 measurement ID to the listing in the Partner Dashboard, each visit from App Store search reaches GA4 with the merchant’s search query, the results page and your position on it. If you run App Store ads, their reports add the ad’s average position and the search terms that showed it. Beyond search, installs and uninstalls show in the Dev Dashboard, and Shopify emails you each new review.
For actual rankings at no cost, there are the free plans in the table above and one more option: the Shopify App Store Rank Tracker, which its author, Beckett Oliphant, shared in a post on the Shopify developer community. The post calls it free, although the tool’s page states no price.
Rank tracking inside Meridian
Link your listing in the app’s settings and you get:
- Keyword rankings, checked once a day against the top 120 organic results, with the change over a day and a week and the full leaderboard for each term. Ads show beside the results but never count as a position.
- Category leaderboards saved every day and browsable by date, and the apps that entered or left page one of a category.
- Market Intel, an index of every published listing re-crawled daily: any app’s ranking history, listing changes and full review history, including reviews later removed from the store.
- Each review on the CRM profile of the store that left it, next to that store’s plan and revenue, when Meridian can match the store.
These App Store tools are part of every Meridian plan and work wherever your app is hosted. Plans start at $69 a month per app on Lite, with a 14-day free trial, no card needed. Lite tracks 3 keywords per app and also includes hosting, Plan Builder, the CRM and email.
When another tool is the better pick
A dedicated tracker serves you better in these cases:
- You only want rank tracking: the tools above sell it on its own, and Meridian has no plan for tracking alone.
- You want more keywords for less: Letsmetrix Pro covers 20 per app for $19 a month, and Meridian’s Lite tracks 3.
- You want rank changes sent to you: Letsmetrix emails a daily keyword digest on every plan, App Store Pulse on its paid plans, and AppJubilee sends email alerts. Meridian shows rankings in the dashboard.
- You need past positions for keywords you haven’t tracked yet: in Meridian a keyword’s chart starts when you add it.
